In March 2020, Louisville law enforcement officers fatally shot Breonna Taylor in her condominium although executing a no-knock warrant. There was terrific outrage about the killing of the harmless lady, and Kentucky Attorney Standard Daniel Cameron led an investigation of the officer-included capturing. Activists protested in Louisville immediately after Taylor’s killing, and when Cameron’s investigation appeared stalled, these activists even performed a sit-in on Cameron’s front garden.

They demanded speedy justice for Taylor. Cameron sharply responded, lecturing the activists on how to achieve justice. He contended that neither trespassing on private residence nor escalation in techniques could advance the cause of justice. Cameron’s daring assertion invitations a dialogue of how civil rights activists have and continue to use trespassing and escalation to go after justice. This Essay explores the partnership concerning civil rights and assets rights and finds parallels among the sit-in movement of the 1960s and the Black Life Subject Movement.
